I started this site to share my passion for monochromatic art with you. I have been posting images for years on my personal photographic art page (www.jonathanswinton.com), but want to take those images a step further by telling the stories, sharing the meaning, and evoking a connection between you and my art.
As a romantically-trained black & white photographic artist, I have spent the last 25 years fine-tuning my skills. I credit much of my photographic development to the great Tillman Crane. I worked as his assistant for several years in the 1990’s. I then attended Utah State University and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in photography on a photography scholarship. I have been making images as my great avocation ever since.
I love the messages and feeling that can be shared through the medium of black & white photographs. Shooting with a knowledge that the completed image will be monochrome changes the way one sees the world they photograph.
